Korean Palace: Kung Jeon

Annyeong-haseyo!

In just an hour of driving from the project site at Itogon Benguet, I and my officemate arrived in Seoul! Isn’t it amazing?

Not in Seoul exactly guys but, it feels like we were in Korea when we’ve reached Kung Jeon, a famous Korean buffet restaurant in Baguio City. The place is famously known as “Korean Palace”.

There are many Korean restaurant within the vicinity of Baguio City, but the thing that made Kung Jeon unique from the others are the Korean national costumes that you could wear upon visiting the place. They are being displayed near the dining area outside the restaurant. They are free to wear for picture taking, so if you’re a Korean fanatic I am sure you would love to experience to be a Korean by wearing their national costume.

We also never missed the chance to wear it and embrace the feeling of being a Korean for a time. That is why we tried to wear the national costume with a hair bun to look neat and clean, like Koreans usually do when they wear their national costume.

We were enthusiastically enjoyed it by taking more photographs; I mean instagrammable photos while indulging ourselves with the Korean spirit in the costumes we wore, lol!

We actually got inside the restaurant with the costumes, but we got fouled by their crews, because it is not allowed to wear it inside and especially during the eating session. So we apologized for the ignorance and asked them to get some photos instead wearing those costumes since we were already inside. And, we were glad that they accepted and granted our little favor!

The Korean ambiance is what we had felt inside the known Korean Palace. We tried so many Korean dishes for 339 pesos per head and take note that is for unlimited, except for the soft drinks and ice cream they have separate payments. Since the place is a buffet restaurant, there would be a 500 pesos penalty if ever there are left overs, normal to any buffet restaurants around right?

The place is simple, clean and since this is a Korean restaurant, there are many Koreans customers in the place, which are also gives the place the most Korea atmosphere.

To summarize:

PLACE: Simple and neat
AMBIANCE: Feels like in Korea countryside
CREWS: Hospitable
FOODS: Good and affordable
PRICE: 399 per head for buffet/ unlimited Korean dishes
LOCATION: Baguio City, South Drive
TIME: Opens 10am & closes 10pm

So this is it! If ever you’ve visited Baguio City for the first time or again, you can enjoy this Korean Palace. The place will surely give you the Korea experience that you will never forget ;)
