Mindoro Oriental📍Things to Do in Puerto Galera

Simply, traveling is the greatest escape. May nabasa nga ako sa social media regarding traveling quoting “Traveling – nagpapatunanay na hindi lamang umiikot ang buhay mo sa opisina.”

I laughed when I read the post ‘cause indeed when we travel at least for a time stress and pressure are mislay. We smile and become amaze for new experiences when travelling and after that we search and look for more escapades. *Nakakaadik magtravel!

Talking about travel escape, I’m a fan of it and I want to be a pro. I think it is the best way to reconnect to the real world and experience world’s amazing adventures. Adventures are everywhere and tadah! Catch them because they are one of the best memories to keep.

Exploring Puerto Galera for the first time last 2015 is my first travel escape and because of that unplanned escapade I was scolded by my project manager seriously, but it was all okay for me, my fault lol. Nevertheless, exploring Puerto Galera for the first time was really great.  To give you some background about the place, here are the 6 things to do in Puerto Galera based from my own experienced.

Visit White Beach Resort

White beach resort is a famous resort in Puerto Galera commonly visited by tourist. From Batangas pier there are a big boats offer travel directly to white beach. Riding a boat is the easiest mode of transportation from Batangas Pier, but if your starting point is in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, there are Jeepneys and a Vans in Calapan Public Market that will direct you to Puerto Galera proper. When I took my trip there I used to ride a jeepney that cost me around Php 50.00 starting point is Calapan Public Market.

Visit Tamaraw Falls

Tamaraw falls derived its name from Oriental Mindoro’s famous Tamaraw – a native buffalo. When riding a van or jeepney going to Puerto Galera proper, anyone could take a glimpse of this falls which is composed of various layers of small water falls. It stands at 423 feet covered with green plants.

Enjoy the Breathtaking Overview at Ponderasa Golf Course

Pondorosa Golf Course gives a stunning panoramic view of Puerto Galera. When I went there I just took a motorcycle together with my friend so only gasoline was my expense, no entrance fee. But when riding a tricycle from white beach it cost around 500 pesos for round trip. If you want to hike, it is also a best thing to do. There are many foreigners and even local tourist found the place great when hiking. When you get at the top you will get amazed by its cool scenery and views of the sea and hills. There you can have a glimpse of Batangas Island. You could also take a zip line ride that would cost 500 pesos each person.

Visit Villa Malasimbo

Going to Pondorosa Golf Course there’s a different way approaching and that is going to Villa Malasimbo. It is a famous place to visit while in Puerto Galera. This place is known of its music and art festival which is celebrated every second week of March.

Go Scuba Diving and Island Hopping

Scuba diving and island hopping are two of the major activities that adventurers do when in Puerto Galera. Check Puerto Galera Dive!

Never Miss the Fire Dancing at White Beach Resort

It is free to see those amazing fire dancers in the stretch of white beach resort so you don’t have any alibi that you couldn’t catch the show so please when you’re in Puerto Galera never disregard Puerto Galera’s amazing fire dancing show, it is worth it. :)

  10. It has only been a week, but I miss Puerto Galera. I miss the corals and my baby fishes. I will definitely visit again and will never miss an opportunity to visit Tamaraw Falls, because we did not go there because we are in tight budget!
