One
is not enough; there are more adventures out there waiting for you to catch.
Quite Facts
If Taal Batangas is known
to be the Vigan of the South, Tagaytay is the Baguio City of the
South. The city is like Baguio of Benguet Province that also has cold temperature that is why the place is known as the City with Cool Scenery in the part of Cavite Province.
Travel Experience
Tagaytay City is just one
hour ride from Taal, Batangas. Together with my travel buddies this time, we
took a jeepney heading to this city from Taal, Batangas. From the city proper
where we stopped, a “Motorela” driver offered to take us to our first
destination. We paid him 25 pesos each going to People’s Park in the Sky.
People’s
Park in the Sky has no entrance fee. So we could see Taal,
Lake from the highest point for free. The sunset is nice in the park. There are
many people coming in the park because of its nice scenery. Others come for
jogging, with barkadas to chill, family for picnics and tourist to experience
the beauty of the place.
Just
within People’s Park in the Sky, a shrine named Our Lady, Mother of Fair Love
is located in the highest portion of the park.
There are cottages at the foot of the
chapel where vendors standby and sell. There are also stalls of souvenir items
besides the cottages. We never waste more time to check other stores in the
city for our pasalubongs, we took our time at People’s park souvenir shop for it.
T-shirts
printed in TAGAYTAY, costs from 150 to 250 pesos from small sizes to
extra-large are sold in the shop. Their key chains which are common souvenirs cost
from 10 pesos each up to 50 pesos depending on the designs. Hats and scarfs are
also many in the shops. For me, I bought key chains for my friends and a ref
magnet as additional for my collections.
The
highlight of this park is the overlooking view of the Taal, Lake. As first timer in Tagaytay, we never ever disremembered
to take pictures of this famous lake that we only read and see in books before.
Located
near the souvenir shops, there were columns designed like those Greek Ancient
Columns and these pieces of art were happened to be our next to Taal View, as
our favorite spot to take selfies haha.
Around
6 am early on the next day, we visited the Taal,
Lake up-close. We paid 800 pesos for the motorela we hired. Travel time is
about an hour just one way trip down to the Foot of Taal Lake.
